OOIDA tour trailer The Spirit of the American Trucker is headed to Greenwood, La., which is just across the border from Texas and 15 miles west of Shreveport, La.

Jon Osburn, skipper of The Spirit, plans to set up shop be at the Bill Underwood TA truck stop at Exit 5 on Interstate 20. The Spirit is scheduled to be there May 22-24.

Jon said he is pretty sure more seafood is in his near future.

With the trip to Greenwood, Jon and The Spirit leave behind Port O’Connor, Texas, and Warrior’s Weekend. There were about 700 physically wounded veterans there being treated to a weekend of fishing, relaxation and entertainment. There also were more than a hundred veterans being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder, plus caregivers of the veterans attending.

Jon, a U.S. Navy veteran, said he was touched beyond words by the event.
