The new hours-of-service rules set to go into effect this month are being challenged in court. Plus, problems at TWIC enrollment centers in several states.

I. Today’s news with Terry Scruton

Groups challenge the new HOS rules in court; cleanup begins after Hurricane Sally; and hey, it worked for Jake and Elwood.


II. Emergency hours of service relief

The FMCSA extends its emergency declaration means for hours of service through the end of the year. Plus, the Department of Transportation just handed out a billion dollars in grants. Do the states that cashed in have something to do with the Electoral College map?


III. California congestion and “archaic” driving law in Michigan

California takes another shot at clearing up congestion on the roadways, and an “archaic” driving law that has no business being on the books in Michigan may be headed into the dustbin of history.


IV. TWIC enrollment problems

A couple of states have admitted problems at their TWIC enrollment offices. Plus, a prediction about ongoing stimulus talks at the White House and Capitol Hill.
