  • The Unified Carrier Registration’s new website, UCR National Registration System is scheduled to go live next Friday, Sept. 28. It will replace the current UCR registration site, which is housed by the Indiana Department of Revenue.
  • FMCSA announced it is extending the HOS comment period for an additional 16 days. You can make comments on the potential changes to the hours of service through Oct. 10. You can submit your comments online here.
  • Additionally, FMCSA will conduct its next listening session to gather public input on proposed changes to the hours of service from 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday at the National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nevada. You can submit questions during the live stream by emailing ListeningSession@dot.gov.
  • The agency will conduct a third listening session Friday, Sept. 28, at this year’s Guilty by Association Truck Show in Joplin, Mo. And officials have scheduled a fourth session for Oct. 5 in Orlando, Fla.
  • The final session – a make-up session in Washington, D.C., that was canceled with the approach of Hurricane Florence – will take place Wednesday, Oct. 10, at DOT headquarters. That date coincides with the new deadline for comments.
