Richard Petty among celebrities to appear at MATS

Celebrity sightings are a common occurrence at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.

The 2018 edition of MATS will be no different. NASCAR legend Richard Petty, country music icon Tanya Tucker, and numerous other musicians, reality television stars, and radio personalities are scheduled to attend the truck show, scheduled for March 22-24 at the Kentucky Exposition Center.

Petty, who won the NASCAR Championship seven times and is nicknamed “The King,” is slated to sign autographs and take photos from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at the Mack Trucks booth 34105 in the south wing of the Expo Center. Those attending MATS also will have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win a Richard Petty Driving Experience.

Tucker, who was listed by Rolling Stone as the 67th-best Country Artist of All Time, is scheduled to conduct a meet-and-greet from 2-4 p.m. on March 22 at the Red Eye Radio booth 41064 in the South A lobby.

Other musicians scheduled to appear at the Red Eye Radio booth:

• Jayne Denham, Dustin Collins, and Tyler Jordan on March 22;
• Ray Scott on March 23; and
• Lucas Hoge on March 24.

Tony Justice, a truck driver and OOIDA member, is expected to perform at the Red Eye Radio booth, but the time has not been released. The complete schedule for the Red Eye Radio booth’s performances and meet-and-greets can be found here.

In addition to the Red Eye Radio booth, there will be plenty of other musical performances.

Denham, Dave Gore, Terrance Mathis, Brad James, Paul Marhoefer, and Pat Terranova are slated to perform at booth 40452 in the north wing lobby on all three days of the show. Marhoefer, who is known as Long Haul Paul, is an OOIDA member.

Taylor Barker and OOIDA Member Bill Weaver will perform at booth 72200 in the pavilion on March 22. Mathis is scheduled to perform at booth 72200 on March 23 and March 24.

Country singer Lindsay Lawler is scheduled to meet fans from 3-4 p.m. March 23 at booth 63013 in the west wing.

Kellie Pickler, a country music star and “American Idol” alum, will headline the 2018 MATS concert on Friday, March 23 at Freedom Hall. The annual concert is sponsored by ExxonMobil and the Mobil Delvac team. Free tickets for the concert will be available at the Mobil Delvac booth (No. 18160 in the North Hall) on Thursday and Friday during regular show hours.

Other celebrities scheduled to attend include Dakota Vandeberg from the TV show “King of the Road,” Budweiser Boss driver Gary Collins, and NASCAR driver Darrell Wallace Jr.

Land Line Now’s Mark Reddig and Mary McKenna have scheduled times all three days of the show to meet listeners at booth No. 11128 in the north wing.
