    • The value of freight hauled in December as part of the North American Free Trade Agreement was down significantly, but trucks still hauled the majority of it. Learn more about the numbers: December NAFTA marks worst month in two years.

    • Terry Scruton reports that the Illinois Department of Transportation is planning to close the U.S. 60 and 62 bridge over the Mississippi River in a few days for its annual inspection. The bridge will close beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, March 18, and will not reopen until noon March 21. It will close again from 8 a.m. March 25 until noon March 28.
    • In Alabama, trucks have been banned altogether from the Happy Hollow Bridge in Florence. The Florence Times Daily reports that the Lauderdale County Commission unanimously approved a resolution that bans 18-wheelers from using an 8-mile stretch of Lauderdale 47 from U.S. 43 to Lauderdale 30 in St. Florian.
