The reason the FTC isn’t going after predatory towing
The Federal Trade Commission had been planning to do something about predatory towing fees – but a final rule left the trucking industry in the dark. Jami Jones of Land Line Magazine joins Land Line Now to discuss what changed, what FMCSA still might do about the issue and, ultimately, why it might be up to the states to nip this problem in the bud.
OOIDA fireside chat to break down broker transparency issue
You have a chance in the new year to send FMCSA a message about broker transparency. And OOIDA wants that message to be delivered loud and clear. In response to a new proposal that would bring some added transparency to the broker-carrier model, the Association is calling on all members to act now. OOIDA President Todd Spencer and OOIDA Executive Vice President Lewie Pugh are even holding a fireside chat next week to get everyone prepared.
Big news week includes the back-and-forth on BOI
Despite the holiday season, a number of trucking stories have broken over the past couple of weeks. From whiplash over beneficial ownership information reporting and a trucking-related bill being signed into law by the president to New York City congestion pricing and more, Tyson Fisher and Mark Schremmer of Land Line Magazine offer a recap and analysis.
