A new FMCSA study on warning devices seems to suggest that the agency has finally received the message from truckers that there are just too many regulations on the books that don’t affect safety. But upon closer look, something else is driving the issue. Mark Schremmer of Land Line Magazine joins the show with analysis.
Effort aims to educate truckers on human trafficking
The trucking industry has been active for many years in continually trying to combat human trafficking – including through efforts by the organization Truckers Against Trafficking. And it’s not alone. The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance has an annual effort designed to inform commercial motor vehicle drivers about the problem and what they can do about it. That initiative is just around the corner. Jake Elovirta, CVSA’s director of enforcement programs, explains what’s planned – and discusses the issue overall.
