LLN (5/10/19) – It’s safety blitz season – get ready We’ll discuss two upcoming events: Brake Safety Day is on May 15, so make sure your tubes and hoses are in good shape. And CVSA’s annual Safe Driver Week is in July. Also, a recent survey reveals some of company drivers’ unique concerns. Meanwhile, more and more trucks are going outrageous speeds in truck stop parking lots. And OOIDA is pursuing some issues and opposing others for a new highway bill.

- The OOIDA Foundation has EPA grants to pay for 25 percent of the cost for an APU. Drivers need to have a model year 1996 through 2006 truck, and be based in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa or Nebraska. OOIDA membership is not required, but OOIDA members can get discounts on EPA-approved units.
