II. Broker transparency plan

The FMCSA wants public input on an OOIDA proposal to make brokers give load payment information to the truckers who carry the freight.


III. Ohio – corporate welfare and more local police

Ohio is once again considering some corporate welfare to fuel turnover in trucking as well as a plan that would put more local police on interstates. Also, OOIDA is asking truckers to speak out against plans to increase insurance requirements.


IV. Warning about upcoming protests

OOIDA takes action to warn truckers about protests; meanwhile, some want the federal Department of Transportation to enforce a law passed roughly 75 years ago. Congress wrote that law, the Hobbs Act, to protect interstate commerce.
