A new bill aims to highlight jobs in transportation; Michigan plans to replace one of the nation’s truck-eating bridges; and scientists in New Hampshire get silly, but they’ll walk it off.


II. Truck parking bill and its truck-driving author

U.S. Representative Mike Bost of Illinois has been a trucker, and his family still runs a trucking business. And he’s seen the challenges truckers face every day – including the never-ending search for a safe place to park. Today, the congressman tells his own story – and what led him to introduce a bill to solve the truck parking shortage.


III. Freight looks better; diesel prices look lower

Freight and rates show some signs of life as spring approaches. Meanwhile, diesel prices drop for the 9th week in a row as the oil market collapses.


IV. Study says safety depends on people – not tech

A study from overseas says that technology is not the cure-all to safety problem in trucking – investing in people, the truck drivers themselves – is. We’ll find out who did the study and what it said from Bryce Mongeon of OOIDA’s Washington, D.C., office.
