Easing life for diabetic truckers

LLN (9/27/18) – The FMCSA recently published a rule that will make life a bit easier for diabetic truckers – especially those who are insulin-treated. Kentucky towns are having second thoughts about loading and unloading fees after OOIDA gets involved. And California’s CDL training law goes a step beyond the federal law. We have all those details. And we get a look behind the scenes at how OOIDA is fighting for truckers rights.

• Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 4,500 Freightliner and Western Star tractors because of a fuel line issue. The model year 2017-2019 Freightliner 122SD, Cascadia, and Coronado and Western Star 4900 tractors are equipped with Cummins ISX15 and X15 engines. Find out more on NHTSA’s website. • Autocar is recalling 297 terminal tractors with brake pedals that are improperly welded. Autocar will begin to notify affected truck owners this Thursday, Sept. 27. Find out more here.
