  • Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration chief Ray Martinez told a congressional committee today that the Hours of Service rule is in the final stages, but declined to give specifics as to when we might finally get a look at it. The IRS is cooking up a new form that could seriously complicate life for company drivers – and potentially expose some of their private information to their employers. Mark Reddig talks with Shasta May of MBA Tax and Bookkeeping Service to get some tips.

The market takes back the gains seen during Roadcheck. And produce season is on with big volume increases coming out of Texas and California. Mary McKenna talks with Peggy Dorf of DAT, a company that provides market information for owner operators, carriers, brokers and shippers.

Oil prices turn higher with a larger than expected draw on supply. Meanwhile the price of diesel is still heading lower for the fourth week in a row. Mary McKenna offers a detailed update on the price of diesel fuel and crude oil, including a break down by region and analysis.
