What had been a very promising highway bill has taken a dark turn for truckers with the approval of an insurance amendment that could cost them big money.

II. Wavier for expiring CDLs extended
The FMCSA has extended a waiver allowing truckers with expiring CDLs to keep driving during the pandemic; also, more about automated vehicles, drug testing and other topics.
III. Two states on surveillance, speed cameras
An effort in Tennessee would allow law enforcement to use surveillance cameras on interstate highways; meanwhile, a decision allows use of speed cameras in Virginia’s work zones.
