The Spirit of the American Trucker, OOIDA’s touring trailer is eastbound and down, headed to Lodi, Ohio.

But instead of Cledus Snow (“Snowman”) and his hound dog, Fred, like in “Smokey and the Bandit,” we have Jon Osburn and his canine co-pilot, Sassi.

Technically, it is more northeast bound for OOIDA’s road warrior ambassadors. Also, far from running from the law like in the movie, Jon and Sassi have said good-bye to the American Truck Historical Society’s annual convention and truck show in Lexington, Ky.

They are looking forward to talking with truckers at the TA truck stop at Exit 209 off I-71 and I-76, the Road 224 exit.

They plan to be there June 4-6.

Jon had a lot of fun at the ATHS truck show and got to see many antique and vintage trucks there.

The stop in Lodi is a truck show break for Jon and The Spirit. The next stop after Lodi is the Buckeye Invitational Truck Show on the Clark County Fairgrounds in Springfield, Ohio. Jon, Sassi and The Spirit are scheduled to be at the Buckeye Invitational June 8-9.

Whenever you see The Spirit tour truck, go say hello to Jon. He enjoys visiting about the Association’s activities and current issues. You also can join or renew your OOIDA membership for $10 off the regular price there. Also, you can get vouchers for flu, shingles and pneumonia vaccines from Jon at The Spirit.
