OOIDA recognizes drivers for safe driving records

OOIDA recently announced honorees in the Association’s Safe Driving Award program. These drivers have been recognized by the Association for truck driving excellence.

  • Ed L. Bryant of Albuquerque, N.M., has been recognized for 52 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Steen Gronlund of Longmont, Colo., has been recognized for 48 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Gene A. Gingrich of Shartlesville, Pa., has been recognized for 28 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Paul Nicholson of Tooele, Utah, has been recognized for 25 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • David W. Carr of Starkville, Miss., has been recognized for 21 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Dave R. Panos of Decorah, Iowa, has been recognized for 17 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Garfield Harper Jr. of Westampton, N.J., has been recognized for 13 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Guido Molina of Newark, N.J., has been recognized for 10 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Stephen Wade Sommer of New River, Ariz., has been recognized for 10 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Marcus V. Benning of Omaha, Neb., has been recognized for seven years of safe, accident-free driving.

The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based on the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.
