  • OOIDA recognizes drivers for safe driving records

    OOIDA recently announced honorees in the Association’s Safe Driving Award program. The following drivers have been recognized by the Association for truck driving excellence:

    • Daryl Yearout of South Haven, Kan., has been recognized for 72 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Dan Wallwork of Burnt River, Ont., has been recognized for 46 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Roger D. Larkins of Chubbuck, Idaho, has been recognized for 39 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Julio Andrades of Kissimmee, Fla., has been recognized for 32 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Dale Hadland of Beachville, Ont., has been recognized for 32 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Stan Hamby of Houston, Miss., has been recognized for 32 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • George W. Pierce, Jr. of Wills Point, Texas, has been recognized for 26 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Gabriel Michael of Hayden, Colo., has been recognized for 18 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Lloyd A. Blackman, Sr. of Memphis, Tenn., has been recognized for 15 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Alexander Pinckney of Gaston, N.C., has been recognized for 15 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Samuel G. Robbins of Des Moines, Iowa, has been recognized for 10 years of safe, accident-free driving.
    • Tim Ray Wheeler of Liberty, Ky., has been recognized for eight years of safe, accident-free driving.

    The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based on the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.
