North Carolina hosts truck parking workshops June 4-7

Truckers who are having a difficult time finding parking spaces in North Carolina will have an opportunity to let the state government know what needs to be done. The North Carolina Department of Transportation will be hosting five truck parking workshops June 4-7.

NCDOT is calling for all stakeholders, including truck drivers, to participate in a North Carolina truck parking study workshop. The department will be hosting a series of two-hour long workshops throughout the state. Truckers can give input through discussions about parking challenges, issues and solutions.

Below are the scheduled workshops:

• June 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Cape Fear Community College at 4500 Clue Clay Road in Castle Hayne, N.C.
• June 4 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Kingston Lenoir County Visitors and Information Center at 101 E. New Bern Road in Kinston, N.C.
• June 5 from 10 a.m. to noon at Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation at 107 Arrow Road in Greensboro, N.C.
• June 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Drumm Facilities Building (conference room 218 in Central Piedmont Community College) at 1325 E. 7th Street in Charlotte, N.C.
• June 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at New Belgium Brewery at 21 Craven Street in Asheville, N.C.
