The U.S. Senate confirmed Nicole Nason’s nomination as Federal Highway Administration administrator on Thursday, March 28.

Nason had previously served as the assistant secretary for the State Department’s Bureau of Administration and as NHTSA administrator and assistant secretary for government affairs at the Department of Transportation.

President Trump nominated Nason for the position in January. As FHWA administrator, Nason will be responsible in providing stewardship over the construction, maintenance and preservation of the nation’s highways, bridges and tunnels.

Nason succeeds Gregory Nadeau, who was FHWA administrator from July 2014 until January 2017.
