Nov. 5, 1973
The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries announces a 25% output cut and threatens an additional 5% cut. The oil embargo was targeted at nations perceived as supporting Israel during the Yom Kippur War.
NOVEMBER 1975
The trucking anthem “Convoy” by C.W. McCall is released. The song reached No. 1 on the country and pop charts and inspired the 1978 movie of the same name.

OOIDA Board Member Monte Wiederhold testifies before the U.S House Committee on Small Business as part of a hearing called, “Highway to Headache.” During the hearing, lawmakers were told that the $2 billion ELD mandate “provides no safety benefit.”

OOIDA submits formal comments in support of a proposal for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to update its broker security regulations. LL
