    U.S. District Court Judge Robert Echols ruled in favor of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, finding that Tennessee Public Service Commission officials illegally discriminated against truck drivers who refused to pay a political contribution.

    SEPTEMBER 1996

    The first Richard Crane Memorial Truck Show took place. The 24th annual event will be Sept. 13-15 in St. Ignace, Mich.

    SEPT. 18, 2018

    Collin Long, OOIDA’s director of government affairs, testified in support of glider trucks during a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee hearing. Long told lawmakers that regulations are too often pursued “with little regard for the practical implications or understanding of how they will affect our members.”

    SEPT. 28, 2018

    FMCSA Administrator Ray Martinez held a public listening session regarding possible changes to the hours-of-service regulations during the Guilty By Association Truck Show in Joplin, Mo. The truck show served as a celebration of OOIDA’s 45th anniversary.
