  • Truckers Jamboree returns to Iowa 80

    July 01, 2025 |

An annual tradition since 1979, the Walcott Truckers Jamboree is quickly approaching.

This year’s event is scheduled to be held July 10-12 at the Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, Iowa. Admission and parking for the event are free – and once inside there is a little something for everyone.

In addition to the acres of trucks, attendees of the Jamboree can show off their skills by competing in the Trucker Olympics – which features exciting events such as the coffee relay, tire roll, strap winding and more.

Other attractions include the Iowa pork chop cookout and free live country music concerts. On July 11, the award-winning band Little Texas will perform on the main stage and will be followed by a fireworks show.

The three-day event features over 175 exhibits and is highlighted by the Super Truck beauty contest. Trucks will be judged in four classes: Working Truck, Show, Specialty and Rat Rod. All entries will compete for awards for best overall theme, polish-and-detail work and Trucker’s Choice. Anyone who wants to compete must pre-register and can do so online.

OOIDA senior member Raiko Graveran took home a trio of awards during last year’s contest, including Trucker’s Choice for his 1995 Freightliner, “Little Blue.” Other members of the Association who won awards during the 2024 event include:

    • Dan Brubaker
    • Robert Finch
    • Duane Hostetler
    • Kim Jaikes, life member
    • John Jaikes
    • Fredrick Littlefield, life member
    • Terry Littlefield, life member
    • Cody Short
    • Daniel and Phyllis Snow
    • Marvin VanKampen, life member

According to organizers, an estimated 53,453 people attended the Jamboree in 2024 – the show’s 45th anniversary year.
