SuperRigs ready to roll as in-person show
After a year of truck shows confined to a virtual format, Shell Rotella SuperRigs is one of the many trucking events that will be back live and in-person this summer.
The 39th annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs is scheduled for July 29-31 at the Love’s Travel Stop in Hampshire, Ill.
This year’s theme will be “A Time to Shine” as truck drivers come together to enjoy the competition and community. The three-day event will continue the tradition of honoring truck drivers for their hard work.
“This year, we cannot wait to celebrate hard-working truckers and their trucks with a return to live judging,” SuperRigs wrote on its website. “But, if you can’t make it, you can still participate in our Virtual People’s Choice Contest. Either way, it is your time to shine.”
Safety of attendees is the top priority at Shell, and COVID-19 protocols will be in place. As of press time, more details about Shell Rotella SuperRigs were being finalized and were expected to be released soon.
“The Shell Rotella SuperRigs competition is the premier truck beauty contest for actively working trucks from across the United States and Canada,” the website stated.
SuperRigs plans to provide updates about the show on its Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
As always, there is no fee to enter SuperRigs, and each entrant will be judged by a team of experienced judges from trucking media outlets. Land Line Magazine Managing Editor Jami Jones returns as a judge this year for her 19th SuperRigs.
The Shell Rotella SuperRigs competition is the premier truck beauty contest for actively working trucks. Hardworking truck drivers from across the United States and Canada compete annually for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes. Eleven drivers will be selected to have their trucks featured in the 2022 Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar. The 12th truck will be the 2016 Peterbilt 389 of OOIDA senior member Brian Dreher, who won best of show at the virtual contest held in 2020.
