There are a lot of resources available to professional truck drivers at OOIDA’s tour trailer at stops across the U.S. It is worth a stop to check in, get questions answered on issues facing the trucking industry, and give input on what you’re seeing on the road.
The greatest resource, of course, is Jon Osburn, the skipper of the Spirit of the American Trucker. Osburn has been hauling The Spirit since March 2014. Before that, he drove for Mayflower Transit. All told, he has logged more than 2.75 million safe miles on the road.
Like all of the board members and the top executives of OOIDA, Osburn knows about on-the-road life from behind the steering wheel of a tractor-trailer. They have all been there.

Osburn also shows videos from OOIDA headquarters. For example, drivers got to see Lewie Pugh, OOIDA executive vice president, testify at a Senate subcommittee hearing in February. Pugh set the record straight and offered real solutions. His recorded performance was universally applauded by drivers, Osburn said.
