For decades, OOIDA has been intently focused on communicating important issues affecting professional drivers to the public, appointed government officials, and elected officials.

Since the early 1970s, the method of informing professional drivers has undergone a significant transformation. Up until the late 1990s, truckers depended on mail and hit-or-miss phone calls to stay informed.

Thanks to technological advances through the years, OOIDA now can relay information about important issues even more efficiently. Land Line Magazine produces daily news online and has a digital version of its print magazine available online; Land Line Now broadcasts on Sirius XM Road Dog Channel 146; and Live From Exit 24 is an internet-based talk show that streams every other Wednesday.

Social media provides the Association an additional resource to get the word out instantly. OOIDA also taps its vast e-directory when necessary for instant Call to Action blasts.

OOIDA’s Call to Action Team closely tracks hot-button issues being discussed in Washington, D.C., as well as in statehouses, state agencies and in communities across the country.
