  • Communication resources provided by OOIDA foster constant contact

    February 05, 2025 |

OOIDA is resolute in its commitment to providing professional drivers with everything needed to effectively communicate with agencies and officials at all levels of government about issues that impact their livelihoods.

Since its founding more than 50 years ago, the Association has relied on various forms of communication with truck drivers. Its communications have evolved from postal mail and hit-or-miss phone calls to more effective methods.

Land Line Media utilizes communication resources that include internet, email, satellite radio and streaming services to consistently provide necessary information to members, truck drivers and the general public. When necessary, OOIDA also utilizes email and text blasts.

OOIDA’s Call to Action Team is tasked with staying on top of relevant issues discussed in Washington, D.C., in statehouses, in state agencies and in communities across the country.

If you’re not already signed up to get action alerts, perhaps it’s time you answered the call.

Joining the Call to Action Team and receiving updates on happenings relevant to your business does not require an OOIDA membership.

Adding your name to the Call to Action contact list is easy. Simply sign up at FightingForTruckers.com. Midway down the page, under “Get Connected & Be Heard,” provide your name, email address and home address. Be sure to check the box to sign up to receive email updates and action alerts.

Once an alert hits your inbox, the next step is to reach out to communicate with the official(s) whose information is provided. Options for engaging with an official include meeting face-to-face, attending a gathering where he or she is scheduled to appear or submitting comments.

Even with communication methods that continue to evolve, action alerts remain the most efficient way to share your views with officials who are elected or appointed to serve your interests. LL
