Land Line, Land Line Now staffs earn recognition from their peers

The staffs of Land Line Magazine and Line Line Now once again took home top honors for their news stories and programs as judged by their peers in the media industry.

On Saturday, June 23, staffers attended an awards luncheon in Kansas City for the Heart of America Press Club. Hosted by the Kansas City Press Club, the magazine and radio show staff brought home a combined 13 awards for their work in print, online and broadcasting.

This year, Land Line earned five awards, including gold awards for Magazine Story, Beat Reporting, and Non-News Column for trade publications. The staff also was recognized with the gold in the Business-to-Business publication category. Land Line Now netted eight awards, including a gold for feature reporting.

The official business publication of OOIDA, Land Line Magazine was first published in 1975. Land Line Now is OOIDA’s trucking news radio program, which airs daily on Sirius XM’s Road Dog Channel. The radio show celebrated its 13th anniversary on June 6.

The Kansas City Press Club is a chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Every year, the Heart of America Awards honors the work of journalists in the western Missouri and eastern Kansas area. Both the magazine and radio show won awards in a variety of categories.
