The 2019 Great American Trucking Show will offer entertainment, free health screenings, and opportunities to learn how to be more successful in your business.

GATS, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, will be Aug. 22-24 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. Registration to attend the show is free and can be done by going to the GATS website.

As part of the show, there will be live music provided by entertainers including Bill Weaver, Brad James, Taylor Barker, and the Stone Creek Four.

Some of the free health screenings include kidney screenings, discounted DOT physicals, prostate exams, blood sugar and blood pressure tests, and mammograms.

In addition, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association is kicking off a new educational series of classes, Shift Into Success, which is aimed at helping truck drivers kick their careers into high gear.

The inaugural class will focus on determining the cost of operations for owner-operators and small fleet owners. Company drivers are welcome to attend to see what lies ahead if they are considering becoming an owner operator.

OOIDA’s business class will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, in room C-147. The two-hour class is free to the public, and drivers do not need to be a member of OOIDA to attend. Participants are not required to register in advance.

Truck drivers are also encouraged to stop by booth No. 2213 during GATS and meet with representatives of OOIDA.
