Gulf Coast Big Rig Show wraps the fifth annual Chrome on the Coast

The Mississippi Gulf Coast was smokin’ hot last weekend – and we’re not just talking about the weather. The fifth annual Gulf Coast Big Rig Truck Show attracted some of the finest chrome beauties and historical working trucks in the South to the Chrome on the Coast competition.

Chris Fiffie of Big Rig Videos was there to memorialize the show and convoy. Chris, who is well-known in the industry for his Rolling CB Interviews, did unexpected double-duty when organizers of the show asked him to be a special guest judge for the competition.

Surprisingly enough, although Fiffie has photographed or videoed hundreds of show trucks, he had never judged a competition.

“I wasn’t sure I could do a good enough job,” he told Land Line.

After taking a few minutes to consider his answer, Chris decided he would accept the challenge.

“I realized my work actually helped me be a good judge, I spend my time looking through the lens for the best shot, I know what things are supposed to look like,” he said, “Working with people like Evan Stegar has helped elevate my awareness of what’s appropriate in show-level cleanliness and what can be done with interiors to enhance the whole look.”

Fiffie remarked on his appreciation for being a judge in that he had time to spend at each truck to meticulously look through it.

“I don’t usually get to stop at every single truck to do much more than grab an image or remark on how cool it is. It was nice to do something different.”

This year’s Gulf Coast Big Rig Truck Show follows previous tradition in supporting service members and the Wounded Warrior Project. Organizers Jim and Patti McCleney have strong ties to the military and show their support for our troops by donating proceeds from the show to help veterans and their families.

The weekend was capped off Saturday evening with a convoy down Ocean Boulevard.

Congratulations to the 2019 Gulf Coast Big Rig Truck Show Chrome on the Coast winners. See you next year on the coast.

A complete list of winners with their trucks will be available on the Gulf Coast Big Rig Show website.
