From the Philadelphia area, The Spirit next heads to Baltimore.

OOIDA’s touring tractor-trailer is scheduled Oct. 27-29 to be at the Baltimore South TA Travel Center at the junction of I-95 and Route 175. Take the Jessup exit, Exit 41A.

The Baltimore South TA has 436 parking spots.

The Baltimore South TA is across the street from several fresh produce wholesalers and distributors, including Lancaster Foods, a fresh produce processing, packaging, warehouse and distribution center with 220,000 square feet of cold storage warehouse.

CGC Holding Inc., a food distribution company and parent company of G. Cefalu & Bro. Inc. and Capital Seaboard, has moved into part of the former Giant Food distribution center, according to the Baltimore Sun. It is also across the street from the Baltimore South TA. Giant left the facility in 2012.

Other nearby produce vendors include Vitrano Produce, Pete Pappas and Sons, Taylor Farms, and Sudano’s Produce. The Maryland Food Center is in the neighborhood also. There are 28 companies there, mostly all produce companies.

If a game of mini golf will get you out of your rut, Monster Mini Golf is just a third of a mile north on Assateague Drive. There is a MOM’s Organic Market there too. Google says it is a 5 minute walk and that also brings you to Pollo Fuego, Panda Express, Starbucks, IHOP and an Entenmann’s Bakery Outlet store.

Whenever you see The Spirit tour truck, go say hello to Jon Osburn, skipper of The Spirit. He enjoys visiting about the Association’s activities and current issues. You also can join or renew your OOIDA membership for $10 off the regular price there. Also, you can get vouchers for flu, shingles and pneumonia vaccines from Jon at The Spirit.
