Scam warning about biennial update notices

September 5, 2019

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is warning truckers of an increase in scam letters asking trucking companies to pay to file their DOT biennial updates. The DOT says these companies are not affiliated with the U.S. or Wisconsin departments of transportation. The letters often include threats of fines for failure to pay. Filing your biennial report can be done for free on the FMCSA’s own website. If you have questions, you can also call OOIDA’s permits ant licensing department at 800-444-5791.
