Truckers for Troops donations accepted

Truckers can still make direction donations to OOIDA Truckers for Troops. The program sends care packages to U.S. troops overseas and supports efforts of the Veterans Community Project to end veteran homelessness.

Comment now on speed limiter proposal

FMCSA is considering a rule that would mandate speed limiters on commercial trucks. OOIDA has issued a Call to Action encouraging all truckers to submit comments to FMCSA on the proposal. The deadline has been extended to July 18.

CDL training scholarships

Job search website Indeed is funding 500 Class-A commercial driver’s license training scholarships for veterans and their spouses. You can apply for the scholarship program by filling out the online application.

Paccar recall

Navistar recalls 2,800 trucks

Navistar is recalling more than 2,800 2018-23 International LT tractors. A damaged battery cable can cause an electrical short. The recall is underway. You can find more information at LandLine.Media.

Louisiana card skimming

Authorities in Louisiana are warning truckers about credit card skimmers on fuel pumps. The devices can be attached to fuel pumps and are used to copy card information. Officials say that if you are unsure if a skimmer is attached to your fuel pump, inspect the card slot and keypad by wiggling them with your hand. If either is loose, it could be a skimmer.
