What are the top issues facing trucking?

The American Transportation Research Institute wants to know which issues provide the most concern for the trucking industry. The research group launched its annual survey this week.

This is ATRI’s 15th annual Top Industry Issues Survey.

Surveys may be completed by going to the ATRI website. Stakeholders will have until Sept. 20 to complete the survey.

Results will be released at the ATA Management Conference and Exhibition, scheduled for Oct. 5-9 in San Diego.

According to the 2018 survey, trucking’s top issues were:

• Driver shortage.
• Hours of service.
• Driver retention.
• ELD mandate.
• Truck parking.
• CSA.
• Driver distraction.
• Infrastructure.
• Driver health and wellness.
• Economy.

The survey lists 28 issues involving trucking and asks respondents to rank their top three.
